Prospective Volunteer Open House
Do you like nature, native plants and wildlife of the Central Valley? Then stop by Shumway Oak Grove’s Nature Center on the 3rd Sunday of each month; Sept. 21, Oct. 19 and Nov. 16, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and pick up a free Prospective Volunteer Packet! Come learn about the many ways to volunteer at the Nature Center—becoming an Educational Docent and staffing the Nature Center on weekends or leading school tours during the week. Other volunteers help keep the Native Plant Trail weeded and trimmed, while some work behind the scenes with IT, database input, newsletter creation or help create new exhibits, programs and Nature Kits. No experience necessary. We’ll provide some in-person training as well as a self-guided training program. Parking $6 cash.
