South County Regional Park

The County of San Joaquin is planning to transform approximately 120 acres of agricultural land into a vibrant new regional park. This land, located on the northern edge of Tracy between North Tracy Boulevard and the Delta area (known as the Sugar Cut), offers a perfect location to complement nearby parks like Legacy Fields. The new South County Regional Park will be designed to enhance the well-being of our community by providing a space where residents can connect with nature, learn, play, and celebrate.

The plan will aim to work collaboratively with the public to ensure that the planned park is not only a destination for recreation, but also a hub for education and gathering, promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle for all ages.

Your Vision for the Park

Nestled 1.5 miles from Tracy, the future South County Regional Park will offer easy access to the old River Riparian Corridor via the Sugar Cut, perfect for nature enthusiasts looking to explore local wildlife, participate in educational programs, or enjoy a scenic walk.

What else do you envision for the park? We want to hear your thoughts on potential features and amenities:

  • Adventure & Recreation:
    • Group campgrounds, water play areas, boating, kayaking, BMX/bike trails, and disc golf.
    • Scenic walking trails with access to the Sugar Cut for wildlife observation and water activities.
  • Learning & Exploration:
    • A nature center, botanical gardens, outdoor classrooms, and interpretive trails.
    • Spaces dedicated to community education and environmental programs.
  • Social & Event Spaces:
    • An outdoor amphitheater, picnic areas, and spots for farmers markets, art shows, scout retreats, weddings, and other celebrations.
