Do California Native Plants Need Winter Coats?
Join us for "Do California Native Plants Need Winter Coats?" on Sunday, Dec. 21, Jan. 18 and Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Nature Center at Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park. Embark on this docent-led tour of the mature plants on the Native Plant Trail and the more recently planted Atrium Native Plant Demonstration Garden. How do native plants in the Central Valley cope with winter? Which ones disappear completely, and which ones are in their full glory? Which ones serve as home for hibernating bees? This is an easy walk, about 45 minutes to 1 hour on a compact dirt/gravel trail. Families welcome, severe weather cancels. Parking $6 cash.
