Zoo Summer Camps at Micke Grove Zoo! Featured
Wild adventures await with Zoo Summer Camp at Micke Grove Zoo! Register children ages 7 - 11 for these engaging, hands-on experiences that combine education, creativity and outdoor exploration.
Each session incorporates age-appropriate activities such as games, crafts and storytelling that make learning both fun and memorable. Camps will run Monday through Friday beginning June 1 - June 5 and concluding July 20 - July 24. This year's camps are:
- Dungeons & Bearded Dragons
June 1-5 • June 29 - July 3
A mysterious evil force is causing mischief in the Micke Grove Zoo Kingdom! Jump into a world of fantasy as we help mythical creatures while learning about their real-world counterparts. - Home Sweet Habitat
June 8-12 • July 6-10
From the freezing arctic to the barren desert, animals can be found not just surviving but thriving! Join us as we learn about different habitats around the world and the adaptations that animals have to help them live their best lives. - Jr. Zoo Detectives
June 15-19 • July 13-17
It's time to put on your detective hats and help solve various mysteries around the zoo! Whether it's observing animal behavior, studying unidentified bones or solving a puzzling case, campers will use their critical thinking skills and teamwork in this fun-filled camp! - Time Travelers Lab
June 22-26 • July 20-24
Take a journey back in time to learn about animals that have gone extinct! Once the journey is over, we'll learn about how we can help prevent history from repeating itself and keep current wildlife from meeting the same fate as their distant ancestors.
Camps for children ages 7 to 9 years are held from 9 AM to 12 PM, while camps for kids ages 10 & 11 take place from 1 PM to 4 PM. The cost is $100 per participant, with an additional $90 fee for each sibling.
Participants are encouraged to come prepared for outdoor activities, including comfortable clothing, sun protection and a readiness to explore the natural world.
