Neighborhood parks across Stockton will come alive this summer as San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation launches Parks After Dark, offering free evening activities that bring neighbors together in safe, welcoming community spaces.

Funded through a $100,000 Central Valley Park Access and Activation Grant from Trust for Public Land, the program expands recreational opportunities in neighborhood parks while encouraging community connection and positive park use. The series was shaped by community survey results, with residents identifying the activities, services and neighborhood parks they most wanted to see included.

The lineup includes outdoor movies, live music, games and activities for all ages. Local food trucks will also be on site at each event with food available for purchase.

Beyond entertainment, each Parks After Dark event will connect residents with County departments and partners offering information and resources on community safety, nutrition, health and wellness, employment and other services available to individuals and families.
